2023 Once Upon A Christmas- Heritage Park
Heritage Park in Calgary runs a set of shows called Once Upon A Christmas, with different activities, carollers, Christmas music, decorations, and so on.
One of the attractions is our Cantrak club’s N-Scale (1:160) model railroad display.
We were once more in the lower level of Gasoline Alley, tucked in among the restored vehicles dating back to the late 1800s in some cases.
We had some 70 feet of running length, which at 1:160 is about two scale miles.
The event ran for four consecutive weekends, and we did not have to take down the layout after each Sunday, but instead just draped sheets over the top to protect it. It typically takes 6-8 hours to set up (depending on the size of the layout) and 2-4 hours to dismantle and pack up.
